Casa Field Directions

Field Locations

For Fall 2010, the majority of our games will be at Lexington Christian Academy. However, we will have a few games at Magazine Beach Fields in Cambridge. Other fields we have used in the past are also included in this list, which may be used as a backup (in case of rainouts, etc).

Jump to Fields: Lexington Clarke | Lexington Center Track | Lexington Christian Academy | Lexington Lincoln 3 | Tewksbury Frasca | Westford Jack Walsh | Arlington High School | Magazine Beach Fields

Tom's Note: This field was our Fall 2009 field and will be the primary location of Fall 2010

Lexington Christian Academy

48 Bartlett Ave, Lexington, MA 02420
Note! Google maps does not locate the school acccurately… use MapQuest!

arielphotoAll matches for Fall 2009, except the special first round playoffs games, will be held at the natural-grass facilities behind the Lexington Christian Academy, in Lexington Massachusetts, just east of the Great Meadow, just north of the Arlington Reservoir, a short bike ride from the Minuteman Bikeway, or a mile walk from downtown Arlington Heights. Parking is available in the lot. Walk over the little footbridge behind the school over the creek and through the woods to find the fields!

Driving Directions from Boston

Take Route 2 West (Concord Expressway) to the Park Ave Exit (58). Go right on Park Ave at the stoplight. Continue (north) about 1.5 miles on Park Ave through downtown Arlington Heights, crossing over Mass Ave. Once you cross Mass Ave, take the first left (Lowell Ave). The second left is Bartlett Ave. Turn left at the end of the street into LCA (going straight would otherwise dump you into overflow lot).

Driving Directions from the North Via I-95 / RT 128

Take I-95 / RT-128 to Exit 32A (Middlesex Turnpike / Lowell St). If coming from the north, turn left onto Lowell Street. Continue for about 3.5 miles and then turn right onto Bartlett Ave. Turn left at the end of the street into LCA (going straight would therwise dump you into overflow lot).

Driving Directions from the South Via I-95 / RT-128

Take I-95 / RT-128 North to Exit 29A (2 East, or Eastbound Concord Turnpike). Take to Park Ave Exit 58. Go left at the end of the ramp. Continue (North) about 1.5 miles on Park Ave through downtown Arlington Heights, crossing over Mass Ave. Once you cross Mass Ave, take the first left (Lowell Ave). The second left is Bartlett Ave. Turn left at the end of the street into LCA (going straight would otherwise dump you into overflow lot).map2

From the Minuteman Commuter Bikeway

You can get out of the bikeway at the Park Ave intersection (the bikeway passes under Park Ave). There is an exit in the back of the Gold's Gym parking lot on the East side of Park Ave, or a stairway up can be found on the west side of Park Ave. Trader Joes is the biggest landmark to the west of Park Ave. Gold's Gym and the Vets Memorial Sports Center are the most noticeable landmarks on the east of Park Ave. Head north on Park Ave to the next intersection, and take the first left onto Lowell (the furthest left). Continue to Bartlett Ave, which is the second left. Head down to the end of Bartlett, and LCA is on the back. Look for the footbridge over the creek to the fields, but please do not bike on the grass!

Taking the T from the Red Line

The fields are 1.1 miles from the corner of Mass Ave and Park Ave, which is serviced by the 77 bus. The 77 runs (every 10 minutes) west down Mass Ave starting at Harvard Square. Take the red line to Porter or Harvard, and get on the 77 there. Get off at Park Ave (the Daniels street stop is the stop before it). Walk the north along same route as the bus or car directions above. Alternatively, the 62/76 runs hourly from Alewife Station and gets to the Park Ave and Mass Ave intersection rather quickly.

Magazine Beach Fields

652 Memorial Drive, Cambridge, MA,
airalphoto

From Boston

Get to Memorial Drive one way or another. Head towawrd the Boston University bridge. The fields will be immediately to the west of the BU Bridge next to the river. There is a small parking lot accessible from Eastbound Memorial Drive only, so you may have to make a U-Turn using Magazine St or Riverside Rd.

From 95 / Route 128

Take the 95 to the Concord Expressway (Rt 2) East. Take it to the end, and head right to Alewife Brook Parkway (3A South). When this ends at the traffic circle, head left (to Fresh Pond Parkway / 3A-S) and then take the right at the next traffic circle. Stay on Fresh Pond Parkway until you get close to the river, and follow the signs to Memorial Drive (you'll have to take a left at a traffic light). Then continue on Mem Drive until you see the fields on the right, just before the BU bridge.

Biking

The Charles River bike path winds along the river directly next to the fields.

The T

Check out the MBTA website for schedules and routes. The 47 and 64 buses run reasonably close to the fields. You can also walk (a bit) southwest on Magazine St directly from Central Square (Red Line T Stop) all the way until it ends at Memorial Drive right be the fields. To get to Magazine St first, you'll have to first go a block southwest on River St and then a few steps east on Green St before connecting to Magazine St.

Leave some extra time to make it through Mall traffic in Bedford.

Lexington Lincoln Fields

136 Lincoln St, Lexington, MAThese are three artificial turf fields of the highest quality. Ordinary field cleats can be used, but I tend to prefer shorter toothed cleats made for artifical turf.
airalphoto

From Boston via Concord Expressway

: Take the Concord Expy (Route 2) West to exit 54B onto Waltham St toward Lexington. Turn right at the end of the ramp onto Waltham St. After about 1.3 miles (note, you will pass by the Lexington Clarke fields you may be used to), turn left onto Marrett Rd / Mass Ave 2A W. Arlington High School

869 Massachusetts Ave, Arlington, MA 02476

This location will serve for special backup matches. This is a recently rennovated artifical turf field, suitable for field cleats or turf cleats. Bring both if you don't know :) . At present, only our first round (Thurdsay) playoff games will take place here in Fall 2009.

Driving Directions from Boston - Via 2/3/3a/Fresh Pond Parkway/Concord Expy

If you are near Mass Ave, you can just take that all the way up to the high school. However, during times of traffic or long distances, this may be a bit unpleasant. If you can get to Route 2 (Concord Expy) take exit 59 north (right coming from the East) and turn right on Pleasant St. Take this to Mass Ave, and go left. It’s just after Mill St.

Driving Directions from Center - South Boston - Mystic Valley Parkway

Here, you might want to take I-93 north to Route 60 and follow that west to Mass Ave. Go right (west) on Mass Ave a few blocks to the school on the right. Alternatively, the Mystic Valley Parkway (Route 16) exit is what I normally would take. Folow that until it intersects Route 60 (Medford/High streets) and go left and continue to Mass ave.

Driving Directions from the West

In general, I recommend Taking I-95 to Concord Expy East (Route 2) east to Exit 59, then take Pleasant st north to Mass Ave. Go left on Mass Ave, fields will be on the right.

Taking the T

There are three buses which connect to the Red Line that will serve this area during weeknights. The 77 leaves from Harvard and Porter stations every 5-10 minutes. The 79 leaves from Alewife on a decent schedule, but check that your return trip will still be served. Take the 77 or 79 west, going all the way down mass ave, to the school on the right. It will be about 30 minutes from Harvard Square, 25 from Porter Square, 20 from Alewife. Start looking for the stop after you have passed through Arlington Center and crossed Mill st. If you pass Grove St, Brattle St, or Forrest St, you have gone too far. You can also take the 67 bus from Alewife, wich runs approximately in between the 79 departures. It's pretty fast, but you have to get off as soon as it turns right onto Mill St (just after the High Rock Church) and walk the rest of the way down Millbrook Dr.
